The costume consists of a dark gray suit jacket featuring staggered gold colored stipes with a matching trousers and vest and an olive long-sleeved shirt with textured stripes.

Worn by George Coe as Avel Durkin in the Star Trek: TNG season four episode #189 “First Contact,” which aired the week of February 18, 1991. Avel Durken was a male Malcorian and Chancellor of Malcor III. After a failed mission by Riker a premature first contact occurred, and Captain Jean-Luc Picard met in secret with Durken. The chancellor accepted the situation for the moment and came with Picard on the Enterprise. Sharing a glass of Chateau Picard with him, he said that, though he had left his home that morning as the leader of the universe he would return as a small voice in a chorus. Durken decided they were not ready as a people and asked the Federation to leave. The costume consists of a dark gray suit jacket featuring staggered gold colored stipes with a matching trousers and vest and an olive long-sleeved shirt with textured stripes. The costume was altered for use in Star Trek DS9 adding brown patches on the pockets and one sleeve and changing the collar and vest. The TNG costume tag reads: “#189  ‘First Contact’  Durken  George Coe  3 pc. Grey suit/olive mock turtleneck.”  Kent Karemaker June 19, 2020 - darrinowger - It’s A Wrap eBay Auction June 22, 2008.
