Handled by Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard in the Star Trek: Picard season two episode #201 "The Star Gazer," which aired the week of March 3, 2022. At his home in early 2401 in La Barre, France, Picard was visited by Fleet Admiral Sally Whitley, who had a sensitive matter on her hands. They had encountered something unique in space and wanted to get his eyes on it. Picard gently protested, I, thinking there were other more qualified people than he. Whitley explained the anomaly caused a large spike in Adler-Lasky temporal radiation, and then began to broadcast. She played the initial distorted broadcast, then filtered it out to "help us, Picard." Whitley explained the transmission fell under Article 15, an entreaty to join the Federation... and apparently only wished to speak to Picard about it. She held out this combadge for him, and he reluctantly accepted it. This is the 2390's to early 2400 version. The badge consists of a curved polished silver metal delta shield backed by two metal flat black quadrangles. The verso is etched: "Jean-Luc Picard SP937-215 R.". 1 of 2.
