The first (type A) standard dress uniform in the early 2360s was a single wraparound tunic with a single gold braid running the entire length of the jacket closure with leggings and no rank pips. In 2365 (type B) it was changed to two narrow rows of braid that only extended to the end of the black material and added rank pips and pants with elasticized ends. It was changed again in 2367 (type C) by bringing the bottom of the jacket up to mid-thigh and removing the vertical piece of braid from the opening to the yoke. The costume consists of a wool gabardine red and black tunic and black pants. An original communicator badge and replica boots and rank pips complete the costume. The jacket and pants have a sewn in tags that read “Patrick.” The TNG wardrobe tag reads: “‘Picard’ Patrick Stewart Dress Uniform Coat.” Craig Dow July 14, 2020 - Julian’s Icons and Idols Hollywood Auction, Lot 258, Monday, December 16, 2019 - Stefan Park - Christie’s 40 Years of Star Trek, Lot 687, Saturday, October 7, 2006.
