The manacles are made of brass and aluminum metal tubes with an aluminum central brace and two adjustable aluminum bars that hold the wearer’s hands in place. There is a central hole where a hanging mount locks into place. The piece measures approximately 10 ¾ in. x 4 ¾ in. x 1 in. The manacles were restored from the alterations for “Bloodlines” by removing the aging paint and then polished.
Used to bind Captain Picard’s hands in the Star Trek: TNG season six episodes #237 “Chain Of Command Part II,” which aired the week of December 14, 1992. During questioning Gul Madred told Captain Picard he would no longer have the privilege of rank or individuality. He would only be referred to as "Human." The guards ripped and pulled Picard's clothes down to his ankles and restrained his wrists in these manacles which connected to a steel rack above. Picard was left naked and suspended, by his wrists, above the floor. These manacles were then used to bind Sito Jax’s hands in the season seven episode #267 “Lower Decks (2/7/94). Their after they were painted and used to bind Jason Vigo’s hands in the season seven episode #274 “Bloodlines” (5/2/94).
