Used by David Warner as Gul Madred and held by Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard during the torture scenes in the Star Trek: TNG season six episode #237 "Chain of Command PartIl," which aired the week of December 14, 1992. Gul Madred was a Cardassian officer placed in charge of the interrogation of Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Celtris Ill in 2369. He sought to uncover Starfleet's defense operations for Minos Korva by first drugging, then torturing Picard. Madred employed unique tactics which he felt stripped victims of their individuality. At the height of his sadism, Madred repeatedly showed Picard four bright lights, telling him that there were in fact five lights. When the captain refused to submit, he was tortured by using this device to activate a small device implanted in Picard's chest. The prop is molded resin with multiple raised features, adhered accents, and two clear red lights at the top. It is painted metallic brown, copper, gold, and dark gray. When the top copper-colored straight button is pressed the lights turn on. It measures approximately 5 x 3 ½ x ¾ inches. Terry Matalas October 30, 2023 - Mike Okuda.
