The label is printed in various colors on wine label stock with a metallic gold and red border. 4 1/8 x 5 inches
A label identical to this production made label first appeared on a wine bottle in 2367 in the Star Trek: TNG season four episode #178 “Family,” which aired the week of October 1, 1990. It was initially seen on the table in the Picard home in La Barre France with Captain Picard and his brother Robert. At the end of the episode Picard’s brother gave him a bottle when he left to rejoin his starship. “Here, Jean-Luc. A little of the fifty-one. Do not drink it all at once. And try not to drink it alone.” The date on the bottle was 2294 – but that could only be seen after the HD remastering. The same bottle then appeared later in 2367 on a shelf in Picard’s quarters in “Legacy.” Picard then drank the bottle in 2369 with Chancellor Durken on first contact with his planet in “First Contact.” The label was also in the Picard family album as shown in the special feature on the Generations DVD. The 4 1/8 x 5 inch label is printed in various colors on wine label stock with a metallic gold and red border. Propworx 50 Years of Star Trek Auction September 10, 2016, Lot 65 – Pam Blackwell.
