Château Picard 2249 Bottle

The prop consists of a distressed brown clear standard wine bottle with a deep red aluminum foil capsule and distressed off white paper labels with text in black and deep red that read: “…2249… Chateau Picard La Barre Bourgogne-Franche-Comté ….” The label also reproduces the signature of Jean-Luc Picard in deep red.

This bottle was production made for use in the wine cellar of Château Picard in the Star Trek: Picard season two episode #209 “Hide and Seek,” which aired the week of April 28, 2022. Distressed bottles like this were seen in wine racks in the cellar during the chase scene between Adam Soong and Jean-Luc Picard and Tallinn. As Soong morphed into a complete villain, he asked Jean-Luc to surrender, offering them their lives in exchange. Jean-Luc declined, challenging Soong to find them first. His idea was to escape into the tunnels under the house.

A very similar distressed bottle was also seen in the final episode of Star Trek Discovery, “Life, Itself” on the shelf behind the desk of Dr. Kovich – revealed to be Agent Daniels from the temporal cold war depicted in Star Trek Enterprise.
