Data's Coil Brace (Stunt)

The futuristic rubber stunt tool features a coiled blade painted silver metallic and a textured grip painted black.

Stunt coil brace used by Brent Spiner as Data in the Star Trek: TNG season seven episode #258 “Phantasms” which aired the week of October 25, 1993.  Data experienced his first nightmare full of disturbing imagery, and he felt he should not ignore it. His friends didn’t think it was anything to worry about, until Data's nightmare visions drove him to commit acts of violence. Data attacked Troi with this coil brace on the Turbolift, wounding her on her shoulder. Over time the dreams somehow made sense to Data, and he woke up and instructed Geordi to adjust his positronic sub processor to emit an interphasic pulse, theorizing that the high frequency pulse would eliminate the creatures he was seeing and trying to kill. The plan successfully drove away the creatures, who were also disrupting the warp drive, leaving Data with an increased appreciation for his "human" gifts.
