Devidians' Ophidian Snake Head Cane

The cane features a detailed snake head handle painted white which is attached to a long black cane with gold accents at the bottom and where the snake head is attached.

Used by the Devidians in the Star Trek: TNG season five and six episodes #226 and 227 “Times Arrow, Parts I and II,” which aired the week of June 15, 1992 and September 21, 1992. The ophidian was a snake-like creature used by the Devidians to generate temporal vortices to 19th

century Earth, where they harvested human neural energy for sustenance. The ophidian functioned by creating minute distortions in the spacetime continuum, which the Devidians focused into a vortex using massive amounts of triolic waves.  This prop was used or held throughout both episodes by the Devidians and almost every member of the Enterprise crew.  It was also featured in the second episode when there was a struggle for the cane, and Data's head was separated from his body.  Designed by Rick Sternbach and built by Makeup & Effects Lab (M.E.L.) the cane features a detailed carved snake head handle painted white which is attached to a long black cane with gold accents at the bottom and where the snake head is attached.
