The prop is composed of a gray rigid cloth half skull cap with a black felt lining, a gray resin rim with gold painted accents and a clear movable plexiglass eye piece with silver and gold painted details.

Worn by Gates McFadden as Doctor Crusher in the Star Trek: TNG season one episode #108 “Lonely Among Us,” which aired the week of November 2, 1987.  While transporting two adversary civilizations to the conference planet of Parliament, the crew of the Enterprise passed through a mysterious "cloud" containing combinations of complex energy patterns.
