Dr. Beverly Crusher’s Carrington Award

The award is made of three pieces of glass (two have bubbles), one of which has white text etched into the back that can be read from the front and a black base with text etched in gold. The black base is 4” x 7 ¼” and the height of the beveled glass ranges from 8 ½” to 11 ½”.

Seen in Dr. Beverly Crusher’s (Gates McFadden) quarters in the Star Trek: Picard season three episode #301 "The Next Generation," which aired the week of April 28, 2022. Dr. Crusher kept her awards in her quarters aboard the SS Eleos XII. The Carrington Award was one of the most prestigious honors granted by the Federation in the field of medicine, generally regarded as a lifetime achievement award. Five nominees were selected by the Federation Medical Council every year. At the base of the award, there was the Latin motto, "Primum Non Nocere" ("First, Do No Harm"). Julian Bashir of Deep Space 9 was nominated for his work on Biomolecular replication. Bashir was the youngest person ever to be nominated for the award, but he did not win. Dr. Beverly Crusher won her Carrington Award for her years of service to Starfleet Medical.
