Mike Okuda, scenic art supervisor and technical consultant, designed the look of this and all the other computer displays in the series. Known as a LCARS, acronym for Library Computer Access and Retrieval System, they were made by designing images in Adobe Illustrator that were silk screened in black on clear film. The clear sections were then backed with different color gels and the panels were then backed with white paper and mounted for back lighting. This LCARS is 7 in. x 9 ¼ in. The LCARS screen pattern and color were screen-matched to the episodes. Completing the display is a replica beige operational (sound and illumination) desktop monitor made by Brett Jones. eBay August 10, 2011.
