Emergency Medical Holographic Doctor’s Uniform

The costume consists of a black Starfleet uniform jumpsuit with a form fitting elastic waist, away team gear loops, quilted gray shoulders and sciences blue division strips around the cuffs. Completing the uniform is a sciences blue long sleeve undershirt and replica communications badge. The uniform was found in the Robert Picard collection and has a sewn in tag reading “H. DR.”

Worn by Robert Picardo as the Emergency Medical Holographic Doctor in the feature film Star Trek VIII: First Contact, which opened on November 22, 1996.  Doctor Beverly Crusher activated him, albeit reluctantly, as a means of distracting the Borg, while she and other crew members escaped from the besieged sickbay.  He replied, "I'm a doctor, not a doorstop", an homage to Doctor McCoy's catchphrase line "I'm a doctor, not a..."  Nevertheless, when the Borg do break in he did attempt to distract them, by noting that Borg implants can cause skin irritation and offered to prescribe an analgesic cream.
