Exocomp

The prop is cast-resin and vacuum-formed plastic with aluminum, copper, lighting bezels and painted plastic detailing. The ears on the exocomp are movable. All the props lights are functional.

This life form was first seen in the Star Trek: TNG  season six episode #235 “The Quality Of Life,” which aired the week of November 16, 1992.  The exocomps were constructed by Dr. Farallon and were thought to be simple machines.  When Data discovers that they are a sentient life form he refuses to send them to their death to save Captain Picard and Geordi.  Then, when the exocomps are given the choice to risk their own lives they come up with a plan to save Captain Picard and Geordi that sacrifices one of them.
