Used by Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan in the Star Trek: TNG season four episode #191 “Night Terrors,” which aired the week of March 18, 1991. The Enterprise located the Brattain, a science vessel which had been adrift for several days, only to discover that the entire crew, except for the ship's Betazoid counselor, were dead. When the same problems started occurring on the Enterprise Troi had to use her abilities to save the crew. Guinan fired this weapon to calm an unruly group in Ten Forward. Guinan kept this weapon behind the bar in Ten Forward and referred to it as “a little souvenir I picked up on Magus Three.” The rifle was originally a "Defense Directorate Rifle" from "Buck Rogers In The 25th Century" TV series, then repainted and used as Guinan's "Magus 3 Rifle" on ST:TNG.
