Tom Spina made the display using a cast Data bust altered to allow him to mount the piece. He added hair and mounting materials and then painted it to match the effect from the episode.

When Geordi ran a diagnostic on Data alien circuitry physically altered his neural net and changed the look of his positronic matrix. This conversion also added the alien symbol to Data’s forehead. The alien race embodied a long-dead, technologically advanced civilization. Ihat was one of many of the D'Arsay personalities to "possess" Data.
