Klingon Painstik

The item is a machined aluminum rod in various diameters with black colored Klingon iconographic lettering adhered to it, a black and gold colored molded resin grip at the fore, and a soldered brass electrode prod end. The item is painted with metallic gold and silver accents to suggest hardware and measures approx. 30.5' long with a 1.5" diameter.

One of the painstiks seen in the Star Trek: TNG season two episode #140 “The Icarus Factor,” which aired the week of April 24, 1989. Painstiks were notably used in the Second Rite of Ascension ceremony, where, in the final part, a young Klingon must walk between two lines of Klingons bearing painstiks, each line consisting of four warriors, which are then utilized as part of a spiritual test of inner strength as endured through physical suffering. To help Worf celebrate his tenth anniversary, Data, Geordi and Wesley surprised him by recreating the Klingon ritual in the holodeck. The item is a machined aluminum rod in various diameters with black colored Klingon iconographic lettering adhered to it, a black and gold colored molded resin grip at the fore, and a soldered brass electrode prod end. The item is painted with metallic gold and silver accents to suggest hardware and measures about 30 ½ inches long with a 1 ½ inch diameter.  Michael Moore July 30, 2021.
