Klingon Qa'vak Spear

The spear, designed by visual effects supervisor Dan Curry who also directed the episode, is crafted of different rubber (gray) and metal colored (bronze, copper, aluminum and gold) rods ending in a non-sharpened point.

One of the spears used in the Star Trek: TNG season six episode #243 “Birthright, Part II,” which aired the week March 1, 1993. In this episode, Worf and Data both seek to know more about their fathers: Worf through visiting a world inside Romulan territory and Data through a newly discovered dream program. Worf and the Klingon youths use these spears in the Romulan compound in a game of Qa'vak.  Worf points out it is not a game but used to hone the skills of the hunt. The spear must be thrown through a hoop as it is rolling on the ground.
