Worn by Maryann Plunkett as Lt. Commander Susanna Leitjen in the Star Trek: TNG season four episode #192 “Identity Crisis,” which aired the week of March 25, 1991. The uniform was then distressed and appeared in the season five episode #216 “Ethics,” which aired the week March 2, 1992. In the season four-episode Geordi La Forge reunited with his old friend Susanna Leitjen on an away mission, only to discover that disturbing events had occurred to members of the team, including a strange metamorphosis affecting Susanna. Dr. Crusher investigated and found the cause was an alien parasite capable of altering the host's DNA, which was then removed to restore Leitjen back to normal. Leijten then joined the away team on the surface to search for Geordi. Using ultraviolet light, they discovered a number of the creatures, all mutated members of the colony. Leijten recognized one as La Forge and was able to coax him away and take him back to the ship where he was similarly cured.
