Lwaxana Troi's Aqua Gown

The costume consists of an aqua velvet gown with an asymmetric neckline and bottom hem accented with iridescent aqua teardrop beads and gold lamé braiding with a nude lace boned corset top. A purple, green, and copper mesh lamé wrap shawl completes the costume.

Worn by Majel Barrett as the Lwaxana Troi in the Star Trek: TNG season four episode #196 “Half A Life” which aired the week of May 6, 1991.  While a passenger aboard the Enterprise, Lwaxana became infatuated with Dr. Timicin of the planet Kaelon II. The rather reserved Timicin, a leading scientist who has enlisted the Federation's aid in saving his planet, was equally smitten with Lwaxana, and the two began spending time together. Soon afterward, Lwaxana marched into Picard's office, outraged by Timicin's revelation that he would soon participate in a ritual suicide known as “The Resolution.” The ritual required all citizens to kill themselves at 60 years of age to eliminate society's responsibility of caring for the elderly. The costume consists of an aqua velvet gown with an asymmetric neckline and bottom hem accented with iridescent aqua teardrop beads and gold lamé braiding with a nude lace boned corset top. A purple, green, and copper mesh lamé wrap shawl completes the costume.  Propstore Entertainment Memorabilia Auction, Lot 337, Tuesday June 21, 2022 - Julien’s Auction of the Estate of Gene Roddenberry, Lot 1568, June 27, 2010.
