Melian's Costume

The costume consists of a gold burlap textured tunic with an orange collar and centerpiece with Velcro on the right sleeve for a communicator and Velcro on the inside near the waste to attach the vest and a long sleeveless brown vest of similar material with a gold lapels with Velcro to attach to the vest to the tunic.

Worn by Paul Lambert as Melian in the Star Trek: TNG season one episode #118 “When The Bough Breaks,” which aired the week of February 15, 1988.  The Enterprise accidentally discovers Aldea, a planet whose inhabitants have lost the ability to reproduce.  To save their race the Aldeans kidnap several children from the Enterprise, including Wesley Crusher.  Melian, an elderly Aldean, cared for Katie and nurtured her musical talent. *The costume consists of a gold burlap textured front zip tunic with an orange collar and placket with Velcro on the right sleeve for a communicator and a long sleeveless brown vest of similar material with gold lapels that attaches to the tunic with Velcro.  The TNG costume tag reads: “When the Bough Breaks 118  Melian  Paul Lambert  1  All Scenes.”  **The Aldean communicator is made of resin in an elongated hexagonal shape, painted silver and black and backed with Velcro.  There are four shaped holes in the black surface with red acetate behind them.  It measures 2 ¾ x 1 ¾ x ½ inches.  *Screen Used Auction April 23, 2017, Lot 148. **David Voth June 1, 2017 – It’s A Wrap eBay Auction October 12, 2007.
