The 16 1/2" long knife is made of aluminum with the blade polished and the handle brushed with alien symbols stamped in the handle.
This knife, used in the traditional bartering ceremony on Tilonus IV, was seen numerous times in the Star Trek: TNG season six episode #247 “Frame of Mind,” which aired the week of May 3, 1993. Riker, convinced he is going insane, is trapped in an alien mental hospital on Tilonus IV with little memory of the past. He ultimately uses this knife to hold his captors at bay so he can activate his communicator and get beamed back to the Enterprise. Once back he learns what really happened. He was attacked from behind and abducted in an alley. As he tried to fight the attackers off with the nisroh knife, given to him by Worf, he was injected with a sedative.
