Phaser In A Cocoon

The phaser, in the style of Star Trek III, is made of resin and painted metallic gray and black with silver tape accents with the handle wrapper in brown leather. The cocoon is vacuum formed clear plastic wrapped in an off white cord to simulate a cocoon.

Held by Wesley Crusher in the Star Trek: TNG season 4 episode #183 “Final Mission,” which aired the week of November 19, 1990.  Captain Picard, Wesley and Dirgo, a representative of Pentarus V, make an emergency landing on a desert moon of the planet. After Captain Picard is injured the groups only source of water is protected by an electrical sentry.  Dirgo bullies Wesley into trying to distract the sentry by setting his weapon to fire automatically, allowing Dirgo to shoot through the force field to reach the water. The plan does not work and the sentry envelopes Wesley's weapon in a cocoon and kills Dirgo.  As Picard struggles to hold on, Wesley devises a plan to foil the sentry and gets access to the water. Soon afterward they are rescued and Picard credits Wesley for saving his life.
