Worn by Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard in the feature film Star Trek VIII: First Contact, which opened on November 22, 1996. Picard wore this costume on earth while he helped Zefran Cochran establish first contact with the Vulcans and foiled the Borg’s plans to conquer earth. The costume consists of a brown/olive long sleeved wool collarless shirt, khaki wool pants with a zipper and cuffs, a floor length mocha wool felt topcoat with wide lapels and a painted gray collar and sleeves, and a pair of black leather "Rugged Footwear Company" boots with leather additions affixed to the ankles which zip over the laces. The coat and pants have sewn in Dominic Gherardi Custom Tailoring tags typed "Patrick Stewart March 1996." The boots are labeled "Picard." The costume tag reads "Picard 21st Century."
