Picard’s Enterprise D Painting

The original painting was done by Andrew Probert, a concept artist for the series. The printed painting backup (56” x 26”) shows the Enterprise D with nebula in the background. It was printed on canvas and placed on a wood stretcher frame. The canvas was covered with clear acrylic gel to simulate brush strokes. It was framed by the original framer with a replica frame.

Seen in Jean-Luc Picard’s library above the fireplace mantle in the Star Trek: Picard season three episode #301 “The Next Generation,” which aired the week of February 16, 2023. On the Enterprise-D, Captain Jean-Luc Picard's ready room had this painting on the wall. After Picard retired, he put the painting on the mantle in his library at Château Picard. At the Château Laris remarked to Picard about how "first love" was always the sweetest, as they observed the painting of the Enterprise-D hanging over the fireplace. Laris jokingly hoped the "favorite" won't be offended if the painting was taken down for cleaning. Picard idly mused that perhaps he could give it to Geordi La Forge, the head of the Fleet Museum, and instructed one of his helpers to take it down and pack it. Laris stopped the man from doing so with a warning look. The original painting was done by Andrew Probert, a concept artist for the series.
