Sarek's Meditation Costume

The costume consists of a cream textured, diamond patterned, nylon floor length tunic with a metallic gold mesh lining and trim decorated with copper metallic Vulcan letters made by Maggie Schpak with a matching long-sleeve blouse.

Worn by Mark Lenard as Sarek in the Star Trek: TNG season three episode #171 “Sarek,” which aired the week of May 14, 1990.  Sarek, the renowned Vulcan Ambassador and father of Spock, was on a mission to establish relations between the Federation and the Legaran.  The mission was threatened when it was learned he was suffering from Bendii Syndrome -- characterized by a loss of emotional control.  Picard proposed that he and Sarek participate in a mind-meld in which they would become telepathically linked. When Sarek agreed, Picard suffered through a whirlwind of the Ambassador's emotions unleashed in his mind, while Sarek used the captain's strength to successfully negotiate with the Legaran delegates. The costume consists of a cream textured, diamond patterned, nylon robe with a metallic gold mesh lining and trim decorated with copper metallic Vulcan letters made by Maggie Schpak with a matching long-sleeve blouse.  The blouse has a sewn in white tag that reads “Mark Lenard.” Julian’s Icons and Idols Hollywood Auction, Lot 260, Monday, December 16, 2019 - Stefan Park - Christie’s 40 Years of Star Trek, Lot 647, Friday, October 6, 2006.
