Wesley Crusher’s Provisional Combadge S2

Cast resin with silver background and light gold delta with black Sharpie borders and flat sanded on the verso. The verso is hollowed out with Velcro placed in the depression. Right bottom chipped as sold by Christies.

Worn by Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher in Star Trek: TNG seasons two and three. In Starfleet, starship captains were given broad latitude in interpreting Starfleet regulations and assigning crew positions. Wesley Crusher was field promoted from "acting ensign" to full ensign by Captain Picard in 2366, in recognition of Wesley's academic accomplishments and sacrifice in a rescue mission saving William T. Riker, Deanna Troi, and Lwaxana Troi. Only Wesley wore these silver/light gold* (season two) and all-silver** (season three) combadges. Both badges were made of painted cast resin with black Sharpie borders and flat sanded on the verso. The versos were hollowed out with a Dremel with Velcro placed in the depression.  The all-silver badge is signed on the verso "Wil Wheaton 2007."  Both badges are chipped on the right bottom of the delta as sold by Christie’s.  With the original Christie's display card signed "Wil Wheaton." *Ray Minarcik January 7, 2024 - Kevin Hanson - Jason Stevens - Christie's 40 Years of Star Trek, Lot 557, Friday, October 6, 2006. **C.
