The skeleton key (4” x 1”) was cast with zinc-based pot metal and colored metallic copper, nickel, and brass.
Held by Dylan Von Halle as young Jean-Luc Picard and by Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard in the Star Trek: Picard season two episodes #209 “Hide and Seek,” which aired the week of April 28, 2022, and #210 “Farewell,” which aired the week of May 5, 2022. Picard's personal journey was at the center of the story for season two. Picard had to face up to a dark moment from his past -- the death of his mother Yvette when he was a child. Picard's mother experienced severe mental illness, and one fateful evening, her husband locked her in her room to keep her safe. But the young and naive Jean-Luc, who responded to his mother's desperate cries for help, used an old skeleton key to let her out, after which she ended her own life. Picard had felt responsible for her death ever since, and in the climax of the finale, Picard, in the 21st century, fond the skeleton key and placed it in the same spot where he found it as a child, allowing the future to fulfill itself even though it meant the death of his mother. The skeleton key (4” x 1”) was cast with zinc-based pot metal and colored metallic copper, nickel, and brass.
