Used in the Star Trek: Picard season one episodes #103 “The End is the Beginning,” which aired the week of February 6, 2020, and #107 “Nepenthe,” which aired the week of March 5, 2020. The Zhat Vash were an ancient and secret Romulan cabal of Tal Shiar operatives. They were formed hundreds of years before the 24th century, when a group of Romulans investigating the mystery of the Eightfold Stars discovered the Admonition on the planet Aia. After experiencing the memories of the utter devastation wrought by the synthetic "Destroyer", called Seb-Cheneb, contained within the Admonition, they dedicated themselves to eliminating synthetics to prevent another such event. Zhat Vash disruptor pistols were a type of Romulan technology delivered in the form of a disruptor pistol as the smaller, standard issue alternative to the disruptor rifle. Those used near the end of the 24th century did not include a stun setting. Various Zhat Vash wielded these pistols including Narissa (Peyton List) and Ramdha (Rebecca Wisocky).
